I have a 1998 Grand Marquis and am having electrical issues. My car battery is brand new and it dies after sitting for 4 or more hours.

I would imagine your alternator is shot. Take it to Autozone or a place like that, they have alternator testers there and they can tell you if it's bad or not. do you have a trunk light?? I've seen cars that their trunk light doesnt turn off even when the trunk is closed.

your alternator should be fine if it only happens when the car sits. something is staying on and using battery power. when you drive the alternator keeps the battery o.k. if you can't figure ouy what is on when the car is off, disconnect the negative cable when not using the car,
