Yep, both, odometer and tripmeter, just quit. Speedometer still works fine.

Anybody ever had this issue and knows what the deal is? Am already taking thing apart to get the cluster out. Don't know what to do then, but it's a good start (talk about removing the wood style trims to get the lower dash panels off).

Any input would be appreciated.

So, I finally took the cluster out. Was not too bad, thus I had to do a lot of reading in order to get some parts off. Many screws/bolts are sort of hidden behind panels.

Even though its electicly controlled, there is a little motor inside which drives a shaft running the tripmeter. Then there is another shaft going from there, driving the odometer.

The little gears on the shafts are all worn out, I heard because of the material they are made out of.

I found new gear kits for $25 a set online, but you need 2 sets. I also found a company which does it all, for $125 including shipping and warranty. So I rather go with their offer, plus they are checking the other gauges as well.

Greetings!

Thus I didn't clarify it, the digital dash does not have any "motors", "shafts" nor "sprocket wheels/gears", it's all electronic. Only the analog ones have rollovers.

I tooka digital one apart a few years ago, looked very professional, took me only 1.4 seconds to decide to put it back together. LOL

So the answer is: No!

Greetings!

BTW: The companies I talked to even repair the digital ones, for just about the same price, most expensive one I saw was $165 for a complete overhaul. Not bad I think.Edited by: 92Mercury
