i have a 1996 grand marquis ls 73,000 miles. the 8th letter of the vin number is "W" I was wondering about putting a engine management system from a police interceptor does anyone know if that is possible? and if so do you have change anything as far as like the mass ait flow sensor, throttle body or change the timming???

 

if it''s a direct wire for wire swap, it should work. I think the only real difference between the engines was that the police computer was not governed and would allow speeds up to 160mph instead of capping you off at ~110 (if I remember correctly - my uncle hit the limit in his vic of the same vintage back in the day). There may be a more aggressive cam and intake along with better exhaust (duals instead of the single pipe on most civilian cars).
