Default Rear end vents fluid.... Why

It appears rear end oil is venting out of the top of the rear axle left side .......
Im not sure why..... is there a vent tube or hose that prevents this from occurring???????

I friend said there should be a vent weep hole on top of the axle housing .....
my question is ..... does this vent require a hose or pipe that prevents heated oil or overflow from occurring?????????
Not sure if I should take it for service department to find out where the oil is venting from.
Or parts dept to replace missing hose or pipe IF there is one missing from my axle assembly.
Thanks

Aloha, Cappy !!
95 MERC has a vent hose attached to the top of the axle housing, on the driver's side.
If you can get the car on a lift, it is easily visible -- and fixable -- for cheap.
Try an independent garage -- the dealer will rock your bank account ;>)
