I'm thinking about having some body work done to my 2000 MGM. I'm getting the rear bumper repainted, and some other minor stuff. While I was at the shop, the guy doing the estimate noticed that there was a scratch on the pillar located between the driver's door, and rear passenger door. He told me he could repaint the pillars for a reasonable price, and I'm thinking about having it done.

However, I've been told that the pillars are not actually painted, but they are actually decals put on in the Ford factory. Now my question is, if this shop paints over top of the decals on my pillars, how well will the paint stick to the decals?

Does anyone have experience with this?
