Can anyone tell me why some of the door weepholes are taped over on the 2003 Mercury. Should this clear tape be removed? Thanks

 

not a clue. if the doors are not clogged up, I wouldn''t worry, but if the doors look like they aren''t draining right, then you might need to remove the tape. I''ve never seen this one any vehicle, so I''m not exactly sure. I would say remove the tape because better draining is always better (like when washing your car, you want any water that makes it past the window seals in the door to drain out of the door and not fill it up and pour into the car). if the metal under the tape isn''t painted, I''d get some touch-up paint and paint it just so it doesn''t rust. if the tape looks like it was put on after paint, then I''d just remove it.

I am assuming you are talking about the holes at the bottom of the doors below the weather stripping.
