check the thread you created. we'll need to go over what's on the car first. If it's bone stock, then start with dual exhaust and a cold air intake (in that order). If you can, opt for a pure custom 2.5" duals out the tail with full headers. That will definitely raise the expense, but it will be able to realize a lot more power if you really mod out the engine.

the problem with headers is that these cars run 2 inch pipes and all the headers made for them for retail are 2.5 inch for mustangs. There is NO aftermarket for headers for these cars. you would have to have them custom made or use mustang headers and convert the rest of the exhaust to match. The duals should have helped with the higher RPMs already (I know they did on my 88). Stiffer valve springs would help on the last few hundred rpms on my car per gear. It probably wouldn't be an issue if I still had the stock gears in my transmission, but I have the wide range gearset now (little closer to what's in the current breeds. it does get out of the hole like a bat outta hell though. tends to lift the nose a good 3 inches or so with my ever so stock tires.

generally yes. Anything "custom" generally adds about 200% to the price if not more.
