well i'm wondering (again) that since the Sable (and Taurus) and Monterey (and Freestar) all take the same transmission part number, the AX4N, if their transmissions are swappable? I'm told they're not but I want to be sure.

I installed a trans in my van 5 years ago. It was cheap. The sedan transmissions are cheap, the ones for the vans are twice as expensive. Sadly, I haven't found my old info about what i exactly i had my mechanics do for me back then. i know that i delivered the used trans to them. and it worked. of course now i need a new one. i'd rather buy a sedan one for $400 than a van one for $800.

is anyone there?
