Hello, I got a hold of a '97 mountaineer recently and I noticed that when the car is parked, pulling the door handle causes all the interior lights to be turned on for a few moments, leaving the entire contents of the car on display! I imagine this is supposed to attract attention to someone scoping out the car, but I would like some help to keep this from happening so anyone nosy does not have the ability to see everything in my car at night! Any help appreciated, thanks.

 

it's actually so you can see a potential attacker hiding in the back. Not sure how to disable it short of removing whatever switch is connected to the door handles inside the door. My 88 MGM and 93 Vic both have this "feature".
