Default master cylinder replacement

2007 Mercury Mountaineer AWD. The pedal has more travel than it should and is getting lower all the time. It is not losing fluid anywhere, master cylinder is full. I suspect the master cylinder needs replacement. My concern is with the ABS and the "module" getting air in it and not being able to completely bleed the system. Is there any specific procedure to follow on the replacement? I've bled plenty of brakes but on old vehicles, nothing with ABS. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Terry
