Hey guys,
I'm new here and this is my first post. I have a 2000 Mercury Mountaineer, V8 and i'm going to replace my tachometer, the complete thing. The orig. mliles are 112000 and the new tachometer showes 99500. Now I heard that a computerchip in the vehicle will save the current miles. My questions:

1. Do I have to adjust the tachometer miles? or should I just leave it?
How do I adjust it or do I have to go to a shop to get the chip reset?

thanks for ur help
