<DIV>Last week Aug 7th, Microsoft released the latest security patches for Win 2000 and XP and apparently their patch is causing intermittent crashes when trying to load web sites that use HTTP 1.1 or compression.

Here is the workaround to fix the problem:

WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, follow these steps: 1. Start Internet Explorer 6.
2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options, and then click the Advanced tab.
3. In the Settings box, click to clear the Use HTTP 1.1 check box under HTTP 1.1 settings, and then click OK. </DIV>
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV>BTW: This workaround was extracted from Microsoft's Knowledgebase article found here:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923762</DIV>

both should run at the same time.

You might have to reinstall. you can download the IE7 installer from microsoft here.

it''s 14.8 meg. this is the version for windows XP SP2/3. other versions are linked to at the bottom of the page. Reinstalling should fix the not loading issues. if not, try uninstalling it and installing ie6sp1 that can be downloaded from microsoft here
