Interior leak
#1
I own a 1996 Grand Marquis.
Just recently I have noticed a leak on the front drivers side floor board.
It seems to only get saturated when it rains, and it rains alot in La.
Is there anything I should be looking for on the inside of my car. I have looked right behind the emergency brake, but I didn't feel any moisture.
Is there anything I should be looking for on the inside of my car.
Any solutions?
Thanks

I would run a hose at the bottom of your windshield and along your firewall then those cars have had problems with seals around the openings through the firewall letting water in but it usally hapeens on the pass side but it could be travling

I also have a 96 Grand Marquis...but my leak is in the passanger side front and rear foot wells. I know it's not a heater core or sunroof leak. It happems everytime it rains. The door weatherstrips look fine also. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I Have found out why the keak is happening on the drivers side...the water that falls from the windsheild sits and raises in the engine compartment just below the rubber grommet for the hood release...when the water raises up, it seeps into the car through the grommet....hope this can help someone...

My Sable has also suffered a wet passenger side floor. I've read on the Taurus forum about a "rainhat" mod to prevent this water leak, but I don't know anything about it. If anyone can help, let us know.
