'96 Marquis - 4.6-Liter Plug Wires
Well, the car is 23 years old -- Mercurys not built since Jan., 2011 -- the HPP was a 20-horsepower option --
Your '96 Grand Marquis would qualify as "rare".
"Rare" sounds all cool and exotic, but what it REALLY means that parts are getting hard to find, and real Factory Shop Manuals even harder.
I found used Mercury Grand Marquis Shop Manuals at e-bay -- $40.
RockAuto.com and Amazon.com have been excellent parts sources for the many parts used in the restoration of the '95 MERC.
Most important !! -- Your '96 has 2 ignition coils and is famous for failed Plug Wires.
Replace Plug wires with: BOSCH Mag-Core Premium # 09725.
Cheap Plastic Wire Separators keep wires neat and prevent cross-fires.
Spark Plugs -- BOSCH #9605 -- correct plug for '95 - '97 -- RockAuto.com @ $4.73 each.
Torque to 15 ft.lbs. -- Use NO Anti-seize !!
