i have a 03 sable which was initially blowing out fluid thru the vent hole when off. initially thought it was the rack, took it to mechanic and they found a leaking hose i also had the pump replaced . it no longer leaks fluid but i still hear whinig with steering and losing power steering ,replaced cap but still whines but so far no loss of power steering YET,what could be going on.

 

possibly the pump is going or is gone, i happend to have a leaking rack and didnt save the pump in time and had to replace it. Orielly sells them for 80 bucks and have good qualities.
