i have a 96 sable here is the problem my temp gage rises when i am parked or idling when im driving its fine ive checked the fuse it was fine the fan is working anyone have any ideas

Ok, you may have a dirty radiator try cleaning the fins out with a hose. If that does not work the cooling system passages may be clogged and need to be professionally cleand and possibly a by pass hose will need to be added to the cooling system.

the radiater fluid is filthy so i guess that is the problem

I would definatly take it to a dealer and have it flushed and check for the possible by pass hose then

You can do that but if the vehicle needs that by pass hose the concern will return after sometime.
