The car(1996 Sable) ended up with a dead battery the other day. After charging it and trying to start it a car alarm went off. We didn't even know the car had one.


It still won't start now even though the battery is charged, so I'm wondering if the car alarm is causing this? What would be the best way to just get rid of the alarm we didn't even know we had?

My guess is the alarm is malfunctioning because of the voltage fluctuations. What does the car do when you try to start it? Does the starter click? Lights dim? How do you know the battery is fully recharged? Try a jump? Let me know.
