Default Should I commit or should I blow

Hello,
I have an opportunity to buy a '95 Sable LS at a really good price. The guy is elderly and has a minivan so no longer needs it. 135k miles, straight body, nice interior ( except for headliner), decent tires, newish front end pieces & a few other new parts. Went to see it & it wouldn't start due to a bad battery. He threw a charger on it & it was working fine, but I didn't have time to stay & drive it. It has been sitting for a while and looks a bit rough, but seems to be quite sound. It is a 2 owner car & he seems like a stand up guy.
Are there any things peculiar to this mode l should look for when I have a second look? I have owned 2 Sables before, same vintage & had the tranny go in one of them. I do have a strong mechanical background, but don't know much about this model specifically.
Thank you,
Gator
