well i hope someone can help me soon. i really need my car and I have no money for a new one.

Automatic Trans
-I turn the car on and put it in drive and it revs a lot, and drives but its stuck in first gear. and jerks/jumps alot.

-I have a transmission leak somewhere since I got my trans filter replaced, BUT the fluid is still coming out black and I was told there was metal shards in the pan.

-the car seems to overheat quickly but the thermostat gauge is stuck so it doesnt tell me so its sudden with no warning. The fan appears to run just fine, as Ive seen it moving...I dont know if that means its actually working tho.

-the car smokes alot of whitish smoke from the hood. I think thats from an oil leak, but its been looked at and Im told there is no oil leak.

I just (about6 months ago) got the timing belt, water pump, and thermostat replaced as well as new tires and such. I really dont know what to do, and all the places around here dont do free inspections, they want $100 I dont have to just look at it to tell me whats wrong.

Ill probably forgetI even posted this in a couple days, so IF its possible, can I get a responce in myemail: DM_060286@yahoo.com

THANK YOU! Edited by: 93Tracerwagon

the car is probably over heating because it is stuck in first nd revs high.

if it is not shifting out of first try to shift the car manually. low- drive gears. if no luck of it shifting, then you have a broken thrust washer in the trans and it needs to be rebuilt. The best thing is to have someone look at it because it is impossible to tell you about a trans when it is stuck in a gear.

check the linkage and possible drop the pan and see if any check bearing fell out of the valve body. otherwise get a used one and put it in as a replacement.
