Question 93 Villager- Fuel Pump Inertia Shut Off

After May thru January in Storage, resurrection required flush out old fuel ( It smelled like sewage", New Fuel Pump assembly, ($300 complete It had melted components), New battery(after incubation at 160 F for months it would not hold a charge.

Switched to real gasoline 89 octane- no ethynol and car ran great for a week, Tornadoes then in area, lost electricity for one+ days, as a survivors "treat" wanted to take car to shop for new shocks ( 172,000) miles. Would not start; so used a AAA tow. Fuel was again a suspect but traced to tripped Inertial Fuel Cut off switch common to Ford , Mercury products Found OEM after days of finding wrong aftermarket offerings. ( Part Number E7AE-9341-AA) listed ebay new at $35

Does anyone have the specs for this? Was it tripped by near tornado encounter of the Florida Kind? Could it be spiders ( For me a common cause of electrical failures)? Local parts supplier wanted to know what happened! he sold 4 after the storm, after prolonged period of no requests.

Lessons to date: Remove negative battery terminal, No ethynol ( except Skotch) Stabil good. All OEM parts need complete documentation ( weep holes bad, G- specs etc)

It was the 85 mph gusts in Naples on January 17. The switch was defective and could be hand shaken to about 2 g's and it would trip. A new OEM switch would not trip when violently shaken ( > 4 g's). Installed and now at 100%. New shocks translates to no more rambling wreck

Common problem likely. Local dealer sold 4 switches after the storm. Likely internal spring was defective
