I recently got my second car...1981 mercury cougar XR7 2 door 302 automatic transmission.tornvinyl top.the stereo had been wired in wrong and left in it blows my dashlights fuse.also it only plays through the right rear speacker.i noticed when i took it out that the wires had all been spliced to lengthen them and now the colors are all wrong.as well the stereo ground wasn''t hooked up.does anyone have the correct colors for the wires i need to install this thing correctly.i also want to add two front door speackers.any wiring diagram would help??? the lost boy(mrbobbo...rob)

If the factory wire harness is still in it (which from what it sounds like, it''s not) you can use a factory adapter''s wire diagram.

if not (which I assume is the case), you may have to pray that the color wire Ford used in your car is the same as the chart in this PDF.

Hopefully that helps.
