Just removed and inspected the ingnition chime switch. It is definetly "open" when the key is removed. So....... Oh and I thought well, why not pull the fuse for the door locks and just go manual operation anduse the key! My daughter said no problem. I go to test the key in the door and the key will not open the lock. Either side. I got a feeling this key and ingnition switch are not original.

It''s goin'' back to the lot. They''ve said no problem returning it.

Thanks!

If the ignition switch and/or its linkage is worn or out of adjustment, it could cause a lot of these problems, and the ignition chime thing would send me looking in that direction.
