1996 Grand Marquis.

I am taking her in on Thursday and wanted to check out what you think.

I've noticed that when I crank the engine she idles rough and then down, sometimes shutting down. I also could smell gas like she is flooded or something when around front end. Once I have her in drive though she seems to ride fine. No jumping or idling problems.

I'm thinking fuel filter, fuel pump or just tune-up!

Any tips so as not to get ripped off would be appreciated.

Thank You,

I'd try cleaning the idle control valve with carb cleaner, that sometimes helps.

Thanks cctxfish,

I tool her to my mechanic last week and he cleaned the full throttle and she seems to be fine now!
