Default Trip meter inop

Looking for some help. I have a 1991 Grand Marquis in the popular rosewood metallic color. The tripometer does not work. It's been on all zero's ever since I bought it. The speedometer and the odometer work just fine and both are accurate.

the gear for the trip is probably broken. I saw a post about where to get the parts recently, but don't remember where it's at. I'll look around for it and post again if I find the link.

scroll down to find the links for repair shops... I'll keep looking for the parts place if you want to try fixing it yourself.

there it is, but I don't see the one I know of for the 88 cluster. Not sure if the 91 is different though.

Thanks for the help! Might just take it apart on a rainy day to look inside. That kit comes with either both gears or just the worm gear so I better check it out first.
