Was wondering if the cam timing on a lse is different than a standard 4.6 . Also replaced the oil pump while we are in there . Do you have to do anything special with it . Thanx for any guidance you can provide
Cam timing is the same for your LSE as for other Mercury models that use the 4.6 engine.
For the Oil Pump -- get a MOTORCRAFT Gasket -- tighten the bolts SLOWLY and EVENLY, using a good torque wrench.
This is a KNOWN source of oil leaks, so be careful to keep the area clean when assembling. Sleeping Beauty, Rolling Thunder
