I was driving on a rainy day, car runs fine then just stalls with no noises. I took it to a ford garage and they said they did not know what was wrong to try a icm. I changed that and the coil pack and still no start(fire). The car has 65000 miles and is a good car. I cannot find a manuel that tells me what I should check hot key on or hot at cranking. 480 dollars in parts and still trying-need help... It is a 2.5 engineEdited by: larry stone

If the engine just stalled out at speed without any warning or prior probs, I would try checking the crank sensor.

Thank You very much. It was a bad connector at the sensor. I replaced the pins and the put it back and now runs fine. I now since have had the check engine light come on and when I unplug the air flow sensor on the air tube and it will run like new. I have tried to get a code check at a couple of places and they say their tester only goes back to 1996. I have taken that sensor out and cleaned the ends carefully with brake clean but no change.

Thanks Again,

Larry

Sounds like you just need to replace the MAF sensor now. Then reset the comp by taking off the the neg. battery terminal for a few mins. Let me know.
