1996 Villager - Alarm issue

Default 1996 Villager - Alarm issue

Hello,

i need some help to disable/bypass the factory alarm on my Villager. lost the remote and its a hassle everytime i open the driver door alarm goes off. It can be shut down from the passenger door. it's annoying. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

it should also turn off just by starting the engine.

I think the only real solution would be to get a new remote and get it setup for your van. I don't know how much they are or how to do that, but I know there's some on here who probably know that info.

Once the alarm is activated it can only be turned off by the lock on the passenger door, the car will not start if the alarm is on.

ah... you must not have one of those with the RFID key. I had an 06 f150 that you could turn off the alarm by turning the key to ON. The computer would recognize the key and disable the alarm (anti-dead battery in the remote feature).

I do believe that disconnecting the alarm from the car in your case would require lots of bypass wiring to get around the disabling features (starter and fuel pump kill, etc). It would probably be cheaper just to by a new remote.
