keypad code or reset
hey everyone, i'm new here but this seems like a good site....my question may already have been answered,i just couldnt find a thread on it...i have a 1995 mercury cougar....it has a keypad on the drivers door... i got no paper-work with this car...i would like to know how to reset the keypad code...or how to retrieve it...or where it might be located on the care...by the way i'm not here just for info...i will always check to see if there is any problems i can help anyone solve..thanks for any help

Use the search function, there are several posts out there which list the several options.
1st of all, you can't "reset" it. The factory code remains in storage, you can program an additional personal code.
On a '95, check the inner lip of your trunk. On the older ones (models), this is a common place to look for it. Also, manual states that "The keyless entry module is located on a metal panel behind the back seat on the driver's side".
It's also on the module in the passenger foot well.
Also, ask you dealer (doesn't cost anything), maybe they retrieve it for you for free (they did it for me).
