Hello all,

I'm new to the Mercury forum and am looking forward to all the advice that I can seek here. I just purchased a 1994 Grand Marquis with 161,000 miles on it. It has no rust underbody or on the body. All Doral tires with 75% life left. It burnsno oil, does not smoke, shifts smooth and sounds great.

The interior is trashed. The driver seat is cocked off center at an angle... the tan interior is almost brown/black in spots, the radio was ripped out... the power windows do not work, the driver side door panel where the electrical accessery keys for the windows and locks are ripped out and taped in place, the fuel door switch has fallen into the door. The driver side window is closed all the way except for the last inch.

The airbag light blinks at me on the dash console.

The windshield wipers work very slowly... not sure if its because the car had been sitting or if the motors are going.

As you can see, I bought this car in excellent running condition, but the interior will need some tender loving care.

I look forward to all your advice. This is my first Mercury ever, along with my first 8 cylinder.

I've owned a 93 Ford Tempo, 88 Toyota Corola, 91 BMW 525i, 96 Saturn SL2 and now the 94 Mercury Grand Marquis.

Welcome!

Is it a '94 model, or '94 built? Am curious, I own a '92 (model and built).

Greetings!

Not really, that only tells you when the car was built, and any date after September could be the next year model.

Since there was a face-lift from '94 to '95, you can easily tell by the way your car looks.

This is a '94:

And this is a '95:

Greetings!
