2002 Sable - white steam?
Hi!
Having trouble with a 2002 Sable that has white steam coming out of the front of the hood. It is not "smoke", but steam. The temp gauge shows that it is not overheating. The steam does not smell like antifreeze.
The fluid levels in the car that I can check seem to be stable and I'm not having to refill anything.
I have taken it to several mechanics who have attempted various methods to resolve the issue, but with no luck. So far, I've had the following done:
Backflushed (at least 3 times)
Heater removed, checked
Thermostat checked
Does anyone have any ideas as to what this could be?
Thanks so much for any help you can offer!
Debbie

have you had the radiator cap pressure tested? It could be venting under low pressure and you won't see a drop in fluid levels immediately if it's not a grand plume of steam.
You should pop the hood and let the engine run and see what starts puffing.
