96 Mercury sable Overheating

96 mercury sable V6 24 valves DHOC station wagon i have problems of overheating in the mornings water is under level i fill it up and in aprox. 10 min it's start heating over the temperature level. yesterday they gave it a service clean the radiator and motor chance the thermostate to 180 and did the same a while after that the ventilators are fine doing their work when it starts overheating what can it be the problem?

I too have had problems with overheating on my 96 Sable. One thing to try is once the engine is heated up turn on the heater in the car, full blast, if it seems to get rather cool after a bit the water pump is probably toasted. That was my situation, but it's apparently not the only problem with my car.

Do a compression check. Sounds like possible leakdown on head gasket(s)
