The 2002 I've got to work on, (it goes to a disabled person when I'm done), has an "EYE" in the trunk lid, to the right (passenger side) of the license plate.
Not a back-up camera; there's no display. Not a 'proximity' sensor either as far as I can tell. Anyone got an idea what the heck it is?
Nothing in the owner's manual about it.

Illogical to think it's a 'day/night sensor, as those are usually in the dash area pointed up. It does have a harness attached on the inside the trunk lid.

Any guesses??
