I have a 1988 Mercury Tracer that will not start. We took the engine out of my daughters wrecked car and built it over intothis Tracer, but for some or other reason it will not start. We drove the wrecked car to the garage before we started building over to the other Tracer, so we know everything worked. The timing has been set to specifications. We have got the car to start when using "quick start", but it will not idle at all. We have replaced the fuel pump also and tested the fuel pressure and all looks good.


Any suggestions??

 

Is the wrecked one and the one that you put the engine into the same generation Tracer? Also, are they both automatic/standard?
