1st gear is not shifting right away (delayed shift) to 2nd gear. All other gears seem fine except Sometimes wont shift to reverseright away.


Now two days later the speedometer teters after 50 miles per Hr. The temp is around 15- 20 degrees out side. Trans fluid is clear and full to the mark. There are only 70,000 miles on this 2001 Mercury Villager.


Im thinking about changing the fluid and replacing the filter. Just to cold outside.

 

Might be speed sensor . Nice replacement video on YouTube . The easiest way is from underneath, with a little screwdriver/chisel. Chisel out just a little of the aluminium case on the outside corner til you can get under the lip ou the sensor ,they just pop out.
