Inherited 93 GM- smoking and needs trim
I pulled the GM out today my mother left me before passing away.
I took a good look and I can't find the silver plastic trim that runs down the doors and plastic bumper covers anywhere on EBay or the Web. Please let me know where I can find this. The car has 48k miles and is a deep maroon in color the looks like it would look sharp with a through buffing and compounding . The plastic bumpers need painting and that silver trim needs replacing. I'm going to replace the headlight lenses w/ Ford units and maybe the grille and top chrome trim if I can find them.
Runs very smooth and quiet. I remember driving this car and always thought it was surprisingly peppy. I have a BB Chevelle so I know what fast is and I always thought highly of the old GM.
Problem is it smokes. I believe it's probably the valve seals. I'm wondering if I should replace just the seals or buy rebuilt heads and a new intake. Don't these 4.6 engines have a reputation for bad intakes.
Any input is appreciated.
Thanks, Joe
