Jacking up 1998 Grand Marquis
Hi all
I just bought a single owner 1998 GM. Not sure on specific trim.
I was planning on major maintenance done this Saturday but, fortunately, came across few posts mentioning something about air suspension and proper jacking with it.
So here's my question.
From what I have noticed so far, mine has a large trapezoidal plug coming out of trunk panel on the left, driver side. About lower tire well height. It also has some sort of a switch up higher on the same side. Factory user guide for jacking mentions that plug as Air Suspension. I started looking into this and that's how I found that AS needs to be turned off before jacking. I, actually, have a scissor lift that I intend to use.
I need guidance on how NOT to screw this up.
Of course, I have only "at a glance"memory of what's in the trunk, as I never even suspected this car to have AS.
Car drives perfectly, it was always dealer only serviced. SO I do not want to screw anything up.
What exactly should I look for and do, before getting her up on the lift? I need to turn rotors, change oil, ATF, rear diff oil.

1. - Disconnect the NEGATIVE Battery Cable at the Terminal.
2. - Make SURE that the cable is disconnected and AWAY from the battery post.
Ford Shop Manual = ALWAYS disconnect the NEGATIVE (-) battery terminal before doing ANY work on the vehicle.
MUST be done to prevent damage to Computer and electrical system.
Suggestions:
Bosch #9606 Double Iridium Spark Plugs.
5-W-30 Full Synthetic Engine Oil.
Bosch #3410 Oil Filter.
Motorcraft Transmission Filter.
Castrol Trans Fluid (Mercon V)
LubeLocker Differential Gasket.
Royal Purple 75-W-90 Gear Oil
Eclipse Calipers; Police Pads; Drilled&Slotted Rotors; DOT 4 Brake Fluid; Centric Hoses.
