Default header help

I'm looking for a set of headers that will go good with my 1998 grand marquis. And suggestions?

Default Headers On A Grand Marquis !??

Definately NOT a good idea !!
The stock exhaust manifolds can handle all the power that you can get out of the 4.6 V-8 without extensive modifications to the engine.
To get the most from your stock Grand Marquis exhaust system, invest in a set of dual exhausts --
Walker H-pipe, 2" x 3.5" x 21" Magnaflow Glasspacks, and Walker Tailpipes.

Part numbers for the 1998 Grand Marquis =
H-Pipe = Walker #50412
Gaskets (2)= Fel-Pro #60924
Mufflers = MagnaFlow #18134

MagnaFlow #18134.
Aluminized steel construction prevents rust-out.
Proprietary "RockWool" packing resists blow-out.
Overall length - 26".
Muffler body - 22".
Muffler overall diameter - 3.5".
2" center inlet.
2", straight-through, perforated core.
2" center outlet.
Perforated core with NO LOUVERS that restrict exhaust flow.
Reversible - non-directional - flows equally in both directions.
Mufflers are very well made, with perfect welds and solid construction.

Once installed on a 4.6 Liter FOMOCO V8, the sound is excellent, with a powerful rumble when accelerating, and a smooth tone at highway speeds.
Never noisy or objectionable -- just a mellow, powerful tone from idle to wide open throttle.
80mph = 2000 rpm on the 4.6 Liter V8 -- and the sound inside the car allows for normal conversation.
Outside of the car, the sound was measured with a Sound Meter:
With the Meter at same height as the pipe tips - centered between pipe tips - 3 feet back.
88.7db @ start-up -- 84 db @ warmed-up idle.
Not too loud - not too quiet - just a pleasant tone from the V-8 engine
When compared to other glasspacks and performance mufflers, the MagnaFlows meet all of my requirements for design, construction, and performance -- and the PRICE/PERFORMANCE ratio is outstanding !

Left Side Tailpipe = Walker #56007
Right Side Tailpipe = Walker #55155

This combo will yield 22 hp over the stock exhaust, as tested with a G-Tech Pro.

Walker H-Pipe; MagnaFlow #18134 Glasspacks; Walker Tailpipes; Superior Tips.

Custom Dual Exhaust Exits; Superior Tips
Checked out those Grand Marquis headers at that website -- COOL headers, but ELEVEN HUNDRED DOLLARS per set !!
NOT a good idea, OR a wise investment.
A well-made, street-legal, high-performance cat-back system = 20-24 HP = about $300, installed.

Here's a pic of the dual exhausts on the 95 MERC;

Walker H-Pipe; MagnaFlow Glasspax; Walker Tailpipes.
I got all of the parts at Amazon.com -- Installed the H-Pipe myself,
then had the rest welded up at MufflerMasters, Avondale, AZ.
Strong rumble, smooth tone; no droning.
