Default 2004 Sable Electrical Issues

I have a 2004 Sable with 76K miles that will crank sometimes but not start. It appears to happen after the car has been off for a while or overnight. Also, sometimes after the car starts the Brake, ABS and Fuel cap warning lights will be on and sometimes the electric windows will not work. The other things that I have noticed is that the electronic message center is dark. Any ideas?

bad voltage regulator, bad connection to the voltage regulator, alternator gone bad... this can all be tested by autozone and walmart tire and lube express for free. If it'll start and get you over there that is. It's most likely an electrical issue.

Default Electrical woes

I've experienced similar events with my 1996 Sable a couple times. I cannot stress how important it is on these cars (especially those with high option loads) to make regular checks of battery health and having clean and tight cables at the battery. Makes a notable difference!

Default Problem Solved

Well, I changed the battery and my problem is solved. Strange, but it worked.

figured it was something electrical. If it does it again within the next 6 months, get the alternator and starter checked out.
